Journaling.
Before I move on with my day or evening, I review my time of prayer and journal my experience in a style that’s natural and comfortable for me.
For example, I consider the following:
What were the graces I asked for? How was it for me to ask for these?
What sensations did I notice at any time in my payer? Impressions? Feelings? Thoughts?
Where did I find myself leaning in the most during my prayer? Where might I have noticed myself being pulled away?
What might be the invitation I can sense—either something concrete in my life or something to come back to with God?
What might I especially want to take forward from this time of prayer?
I briefly journal whatever seems significant to me, trusting that there’s no “right way” to do it.
